Do you love comic books, illustration and art and want to join a dynamic team to help support the Stumptown Comics Festival? Now is your chance to be part of Portland, Oregon's most active comics-centric organization, and help craft our programs and initiatives for the next several years!
Stumptown Comics, a nonprofit organization that organizes the annual Stumptown Comics Festival, is currently seeking experienced applicants interested in serving on its Board of Directors. These volunteer positions will help define the future of the corporation on a critical organizational level in two capacities: Treasurer and Communications Chair.
1) The Treasurer is responsible for all financial accounting related to Stumptown activities, issuing payments on behalf of the organization, and providing financial reports at each Board meeting. The Treasurer must work closely with the Festival Director in maintaining records of revenues and expenses for the convention and other activities, as well as prepare annual financial reports in conjunction with our lawyer and accountant for state and federal taxes. A minimum of one year's experience working in accounting is required, and knowledge of nonprofit accounting needs is preferred.
2) The Communications Chair is responsible for the management of all communications and marketing related to Stumptown Comics events and organizational branding. The Communications Chair works with the Board to develop and implement all manner of strategic plans for broadcasting events, news and branding. Such plans may include: branding in the community, website maintenance, social media, press releases, sponsorship and all advertising coordination. A minimum of two years' demonstrated experience in communications and marketing is required, and graphic design skills are a plus.
All Board positions are reviewed at determined intervals and subject to regular Board office positions voting cycles. Time commitments vary depending on yearly event cycles.

Stumptown Comics, Inc. is a not for profit educational organization dedicated to fostering a wider appreciation of the artistic, cultural, and educational value of the comics art form, through public events, educational workshops, and other activities.
